I’ve just recently upgraded Wordpress to the current stable version 2.2.2. I have to keep an eye out for these releases and upgrade when those with security updates come out.

The upgrade took a little more than an hour, the backup taking most of the time while the software upgrade about 20 minutes.

I found it more suitable to have the meebo IM widget in the Contact page. I think it will also make navigation easier and quicker as it takes some time to reload the webpages when I had the meebo widget in the sidebar. I also need to upgrade Wordpress to the current stable version 2.2.1, which was released almost a month ago.

Meebo is a free web based Instant Messaging service where you setup all your IM accounts, i.e. Yahoo Messenger, AIM, MSN, etc. You then just sign on using one user id (your meebo userid) and send/receive messages from all networks. No client software to download and install. All you need is a web browser and access to the internet. I’ve added it to the sidebar by simply pasting the code into a Text Widget.

I have found another gem of a plugin called Wordpress Contact Form Part III. People wanting to e-mail me from this blog can do so by clicking on Contact and filling out the form.

Just found out about the version 2.1.3 security update release. Because of this I will be upgrading the blog software in the next couple of days. This is the second time I’m doing this, the first time was about a month ago when I upgraded from 2.0.5 to 2.1.2.

Hope everything goes well. If my blog disappears, that means I stuffed it up LOL.
